Microsoft Teams will finally allow you to do something you’ve always wanted to do. Microsoft has announced the addition of a new feature to its Microsoft Teams desktop client that will assist users in maintaining focus in the age of endless instant messages (chats).
The company hopes to roll out the ability to delete chat threads in video conferencing software by the end of the year, with general availability set for December 2022. The description of an entry on Microsoft’s roadmap that opens in a new tab reads: “Users can permanently delete entire conversations from their view.”
According to Microsoft, “this does not affect what any other users in the chat see.” In other words, any conversations deleted on your end will remain unaltered on the other participant’s side, allowing them to access the messages if they need them.
Microsoft is constantly adding new features to its roadmap, providing an indication of upcoming additions, in an effort to make Teams the most competitive platform for businesses as it faces increasing competition from the likes of Zoom and Google Meet (chats).
