The MSI Crosshair 15 (Laptop) design is unquestionably its most distinguishing feature. Rainbow Six fans will adore the yellow accents and in-game motifs, but even those who haven’t dabbled (the Crosshair ships with a game code to cover you there) will find this aesthetic appealing. While the vast majority of gaming laptops use all-black chassis’ to blend in, the Crosshair wants to stand out. MSI laptops are well-known for offering excellent value in their component lineups while maintaining chunkier chassis designs to keep costs low. These are definitely outliers in a world of slimline machines. With a hefty weight and stout design, the MSI Crosshair 15 is firmly in the army camp.
However, there’s plenty of power in this 2022 workhorse, and with a distinct Rainbow Six design, it stands out from the crowd. We obtained an i7-12700H / RTX 3070 configuration (currently priced at Rs 1,27 400) and put the mid-range rig through its paces to see how it compares to the best gaming laptops released this year. All of this is complemented by a vibrant set of yellow WASD keys. You also have a few hints as to the identity of this machine from the back. The Rainbow Six logo is emblazoned on the top lid, with the yellow keyboard deck peeking out above the grills.

These current-generation CPUs are starting to make their way into more affordable machines, but the Crosshair appears to be one of the cheapest rigs with such specs. Overall, it’s an intriguing aesthetic that does a good job of keeping your machine from feeling too generic. However, the 2022 Crosshair’s display has been updated. In my everyday play, the QHD screen shone, providing a crisp and noticeably faster experience while still managing to hit nice brightness and vibrancy levels despite being coated in a matte finish.
