Concerning this Manual
- 1.Waste equipment, in particular, belongs in dedicated collection and return systems rather than domestic waste.
- 2. Batteries, rechargeable batteries, and lamps: Prior to submitting them to a collection location, owners of waste equipment are required to separate waste batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed in the waste equipment and that can be removed from the waste equipment without being destroyed. If a public waste management authority participates in the preparation of waste equipment for reuse, this is not applicable.

Options for returning waste equipment: Under the Electrical and Electronics Equipment Law, owners of waste equipment from private homes may return it for free to the public waste management authorities’ collection locations or to take-back locations established by distributors or manufacturers.
Electrical and electronic equipment must be returned by stores with a minimum sales area of 400 m² for such items, as well as grocery stores with a minimum sales area of 800 m² that sell such items regularly or permanently and make them available in the market. This also holds true when distribution is done via remote communication, provided that the shipment and storage . Distributors are required to return waste equipment, including if a replacement device is provided to an end user that essentially performs the same activities, and they have the option to do so for free. - 4. Privacy Notice: Sensitive personal information is frequently found in waste equipment. This is especially true for information and communications technology devices like PCs and smartphones. Please take note that each end user is in charge of erasing the data on the trash equipment that needs to be disposed of for their own benefit.
