According to Kopit, NVIDIA can use its smallest Ada Lovelace GPU not only for mobile GPUs but also for desktop GPUs. The desktop version uses the same AD107 GPU with a total of 3072 CUDA cores as the mobile version. Hence both the RTX 4060 Desktop and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs get full implementation of this graphics processor.
The RTX 4060 is also said to feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory bus. That means RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 have the same 288 GB/s memory bandwidth. In fact, the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 SKUs have different memory configurations, but the Ti and non-Ti models in each class have the same memory specs.
The typical power consumption (most likely TDP) is estimated at 115W, which is also the maximum specification for a mobile GPU variant. However, the desktop and mobile RTX 4060 share a lot more similarities than we typically see in NVIDIA’s GPU portfolio. The desktop and mobile version uses the same AD107 GPU with a total of 3072 CUDA cores .
The RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 4060 still don’t have a release date, but since we already have the basic specifications, we’re 1-2 months away from receiving more detailed information directly from NVIDIA. It’s worth noting that the mobile RTX 4060 will be available next week, so there’s nothing stopping NVIDIA from releasing a desktop GPU at the same time, except for remaining inventory.
